Amesbury Town Forest in Amesbury, MA offers a tangled network of trails with winding switchbacks navigating short/steep hills and wide tracks tracing the edges of a marsh. The trail map is well laid out on openstreetmap showing the various trails and terrain.
I’ve started to expand my search out a bit further than before. Previously I had been focusing within 20 minutes of Stratham. Moving out to 30 minutes has opened up the border communities in Massachusetts, and boy is there a lot to explore! Listed in our other resources page I have posted a link to ECTAonline which is a great resource put together by the Essex County Trail Association. They however did not show a listing to the Amesbury Town Forest which is a real gem of a trail system, so I wanted to make sure that I listed it on Find My Trail.
This trail system reminded me a bit of Stratham Hill Park with dense trails and diverse terrain. We followed perimeter trails and covered just over 1 1/2 miles. If I were to go back I would follow the trails/board walk in to the adjoining Great Swamp Trails area.
