I visited Douglas Memorial Woods this afternoon. A great loop trail with many quality boardwalks to keep you feet dry as you travel through the boggy marshlands. I found a trail map of Douglas Memorial Woods Maine Trail Finder’s page: https://www.mainetrailfinder.com/trails/trail/douglas-memorial-woods-conservation-area The trail system consists of a .75ish mile loop with a few spurs out to two trailheads.
I ended up parking at the Grange hall and there was ample parking. The other, southern, trailhead, located near the intersection of Old Rd and State Rd had a nice kiosk and sign but no visible parking.
The trail is relatively flat and quickly descends from the grange hall down into some very wet terrain.
There are many boardwalks that are well built and keep you moving quickly.
Living in New Hampshire I usually look to South East Land Trust for new conservation efforts and trails to explore. Just over the boarder into Maine though Great Works Regional Land Trust looks to have been doing a lot of great work as well! This property is monitored/maintained by them. It looks as though they have a lot of properties that I will need to enjoy: http://www.mta2c.org/explore/maps/trails-map/
