Acquired by the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests in 2017, Powders Major’s Forest is an amazing addition of trails to the seacoast. The Powder Major’s Forest Trail Map can be found on SPNF’s website.
There is no official trailhead for the trail system yet. These trails are most easily accessed by parking at Tibbet’s Field and follow the recreation trail to the northwest corner of the trail. Future improvements are planned for a parking area on Cherry Lane as well as better defined trails.
Many of the trails are flat, with few technical sections, and old wide logging trails. The western edge of the property is outlined by the sinuous Oyster River with many opportunities to view water.
For a great description of the trail make sure to check out Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests description on their website.
